>>4369278I loved my Zeiss 85 millimeter f 1.4. At least up until I found a collection of gear that some lady was selling so she could buy herself a point and shoot.
It was her dad's stuff and it was a Contax 167MT, a 28 mm F 2.0, a 200 mm F 3.5 and the legendary 50th Anniversary Edition the 85 mm f 1.2. $350
I took a lot of photographs on that one, mountain biking races road races criteriums, concert photos including Pink Floyd in Vancouver in 87. I did take a couple of photographs of the AN 225 with that when it was at the Abbotsford air show, but the best one of that was with my Hasselblad and the 250 mm 5.6. That one really shows the scale of just how massive that aircraft really is. That in the wide angle shots I got from inside the cargo bay under the nose
Most of my lenses are pretty pedestrian otherwise for my Canon the one stand out though is the 200 mm f 1.8. I bought it I guess about 15 years ago now from Henry's cameras. And I think I paid too much for it $3,500 us. But I've kept it in Immaculate condition even though I've used it outside quite a bit. And I've always used a lens Koat neoprene covering for it.
Now That I'm Older that lens is actually very fatiguing to use when you're not using a monopod but you can take photographs with it that are virtually impossible otherwise.
They used to be lots of these on eBay and other sites but those are slow so much so that usually on eBay there's maybe one or two for sale now. Too many of them are just old releases from the print media organizations that still exist and have been beaten to death and barely work. While I was trolling on eBay to get a price for mine to replace it for insurance purposes I noticed somebody had a bunch of stuff for it including extra Focus Motors and front filter on this so I bought a front filter glass and two extra Focus Motors that were brand new. It turns out that Canon releases parts from their stores when they no longer do warranty service anymore.
