I have an A7 and mainly use two adapted A mount lenses, a screw drive Tamron 90mm and a Sigma 150-500mm with a built in motor, using an LA-EA4. I've been wanting better focussing than what's built into the adapter so I bought an LA-EA5, turns out it won't focus screw drive lenses with anything other than the A7R IV or whatever they're up to these days. No big deal, I'll keep using the EA4 on the 90mm as it's for macro anyway but with the 150-500mm all the bastard thing does is focus hunt. Tried all the different focus area modes and no change, only single AF is available (the EA4 can do continuous so fuck knows why that is). Body is on the latest firmware, 3.20.
Do I just send this shit back? Will an LA-EA3 work instead?
