There is another thing I thought about. When you use IBIS to shift the pixels, like Olympus, Phase One, Sony does, youcan get a Foveon-like result with Bayer filter.
The Bayer filter is coincidentally made for pixel shifting in mind, whereas X-Trans would be completely fucked by Pixel Shift.
