The new glass we have today are amazing around the edge of the frame compared to old lenses. And they are ridiculously small too.
Either the modern lens is much smaller at similar aperture, or the modern lens is same size at twice as large aperture. We have really come a long way.
I didn't quite appreciate this until I found out how the old lenses performed.
