I bought a Canon 1200d to replace my first camera, a Nikon D40x. I payed 165 for it without a charger, but im hoping with the broader ISO and shutter speed range and megapixel count. I was also going to try switching brands to feel if the Canon feels more streamlined to use than the Nikon, because i felt like with the old Nikon i had to remove it from my face to change settings more often and go through more menus.
Although its still only got a 55mm lens just like the outgoing Nikon so its still basic bitch. Its a 2014 instead of a 2006 build so maybe lenses are easier to come by
