By all accounts I've seen it is pretty good value for money, half the price of the only one stop faster non-IS f/2.8, with people claiming the IS adds multiple equivalent stops of low light performance.
>>3903613I was wondering about that, whether to get the EOS 3 or 1v. The 3 is half the price and the eye-tracking sounds cool. On the other hand, the 1v has multi-spot metering. But maybe multi-spot metering is better done with a dedicated meter anyway, which can be bought at a later date. My past experiments with film have been a mess because of getting the exposure wrong, whether on-camera AE or with a metering app. I love the look of Velvia, but I don't have the confidence to try it just yet.
The "killer app" of the EOS 1 seems to be the fast burst mode, which if I had needed it I would have just gone digital.
