I admit, it'd be much stronger without the person on the left or other cars, but it would've been impossible to capture the kid pointing at the car (which is the most interesting part of the photo for me) under those circumstances. The moment would've been lost.

I'm also not sure I understand what you mean by intent. Do you mean there should be one main subject? Or is it a question of boring vs. interesting?
