RAW is linear so you need a gamma curve to make it look right. 14bit raw of a modern sensors exceeds the dynamic range of normal 8bit displays so you need to compress the DR. Log curves do this, be it in camera or after raw conversion. I want to have the whole DR in my photos, yet have it look natural, so could you use Log curves as basecurve for raw development and then continue grading? Kinda similar to a video workflow? Anything I got wrong?
Also, is there a program I can grade highresolution stills in like you would with video (Resolve etc)? I dont like photoshop's tools too much for this.
