>a friend of mine is getting married
>he asks me to be his photographer
>I refuse because I'm not a wedding photo loser, but I tell him I can take a few casual pics of the event with a discreet camera and if something cool comes out I can send him some pics
>he understands
>afterwards he tells me he is searching for a professional wedding photographer and wants to pay me a small sum to determine which one is actually the best, since he doesn't really understand much
>I accept and he gives me a bunch of names of photographers to meet
>go to every single one of them
>ask them to show me a sample of their photos
>first of all they only have a very small number of prints to show off their work, so most of the stuff they show me is on their little shitty computer screens
>ask them I want to specifically show me the portraits they do
>literally every single one is shot at like f/1.2, has only one of the two eyes in focus and the chin and the nose and the ears are all blurred to shit
bros I'm getting desperate, I can't let these clueless faggots ruin my friend's wedding but I don't have the gear to shoot such an event from start to finish. should I tell him to pay a photographer for the basic location photos and then rely on me for the portraiture?
