When I say it came out after 3-4 shots let me clarify, I went out the day before yesterday and took 3-4 shots and only went out to take shots 5 onwards today.
I think if I'd kept taking photos the tension of the coiled film might have kept the leader in?
As far as I know there isn't anything wrong with my k1000, I just suck at loading film evidently.
I plan on selling my olympus gear that I don't use so once I have the money from that I'll grab some cheap fomapan and try your method
