Here are my best tips:
>get out of the gear slump, gear DOES NOT and NEVER WILL make a fantastic photo, ignore gearfags at all costs, take advantage of shooting with a cheap camera, its incredibly liberating to focus on just a good subject and lighting rather than "gee hope they dont notice this noise at iso 100"
>Hone your composition and lighting technique, learn to use lines (street poles, tar on asphalt, trees) thatll guide the viewer to/around the subject
>git gud at processing, if you want to make any photo pop, youre gonna have to do this, learn how to compliment the dominant colors in your image (if its in fall, itll be orange, or if its a lawn, edit for the color green, etc.)
>only show pictures that impress you, if you think your photo is crap, why even bother posting to /p/ when you know someone is gonna just screech about buying an a6000 instead
