>>4044582Of course nothing will ever beat the value in a D700 and the nifty fifty or something, but anything more than that spartan setup and the used options are just not worth it at that point unless you're looking at pro level gear. You can get a 5d classic for 300 or so, pair it with an 24-105 f4 for about 450 bucks, the classic 50 f1.8 for another 100 and your choice of tele for about 500 or so. You're already at nearly 1400 already. Throw another couple hundred bucks in and you can get a brand new setup with near matching image quality. Sure the used ef lenses will be faster, but we're full frame here. Ask yourself if you really need to shoot woodpeckers under a thick canopy at dusk or you can afford to bump that iso and lower that shutter a little.
Not only is inflation coming to eat the value of all your dollars anyway, but the used market is already inflated beyond belief by boomers trying to recoup the cost of their pro dslr setup. Canon is literally giving away RPs at this point. We're almost at the point where its more sensible to buy new than used.
