>>3685610>I could never in a million years justify the price over anything else in that price rangeThat's a totally understandable position to take. If it's not for you, it's not for you.
Think of it like climbing a mountain. You have to buy a shitload of gear, it's a lot of hard work, and there's basically no reward other than the feeling of accomplishment. One might say "Why the hell would you do that? You just come back down again afterwards and you're in the same place you started!"
The Leica's kind of the same thing. Objectively, you don't get pictures any better than you would with a 5D and some decent glass. Objectively, it has far fewer features and is more difficult to use effectively than a modern camera. But subjectively, the process involved in shooting with a Leica--the very things that make it so much less capable in general than something like an SLR or modern mirrorless--can be their own reward IF you're into that sort of experience. If you're not into it, then it's definitely not for you. If you think "I couldn't justify the price", then you can't justify the price, and there's no reason why I could or even *should* try to justify it to you. It's entirely down to your personal preferences.
(Which, incidentally, is also true of ANY camera brand. Too many people have deluded themselves into thinking that there is One True Camera Brand that has the Best Gear For Everyone, and for some reason it always just happens to be the brand they picked more or less by chance when they first started shooting)
tl;dr: If you can't justify buying a Leica, don't buy a Leica. It literally has no effect on me.
