So no point in shutting it down. As another anon said, both companies are part of much bigger groups.
Look at Sony smartphone sales - they nosediving like Ethiopian Boeing, but nobody plans to shut down their department. I understand your concern, but that how market are. Sales of "proper cameras" is going down everywhere and all big players diversified their business long ago. Canon, for example, breddy big in medical equipment, if i'm not mistaken.
