Meanwhile at Pentax they just take old lenses and rips the aperture wide open like a goatse, without redesigning the optics for the larger aperture.
Pentax literally can't figure out how to design good primes faster than f/2.8. That's the limit of their manufacturing capability because their old design tools are stuck in the 90's.
