hi i'm looking for a new camera to replace my Canon 400D/Rebel XTi
For under $700 I need the camera, a telephoto lens, and ~ideally~ a regular ol' kit lens or prime lens. Now, I already have a Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 USM kit lens and Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III telephoto lens. Neither have image stabilization I don't believe, and I'm under the impression that Canon glass from the mid-2000s is kinda bad. For the telephoto it's not a big deal to me, but the other lens definitely is.
On the Canon side I was looking at getting a T5i, T6i/s, or the new SL2 since my lenses will work fine, however the cost is a big thing. I can get a new T5i in the box with either the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM prime or The EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III kit lens for right around $500. The cheapest body-only used T6i is the same price, and the SL2 is $550 new for just the body, and $700 with the kit lens. Canon has some refurbished ones on sale, but that sale will end when I get the money to get a new one.
The other thing is that if I can get a camera from any other brand with a 300mm or so telephoto + some other lens for under $700 I would be more than happy to do it. No loyalty to Canon or whatever nonsense. Any help would be great. Sorry for the long post
tl;dr: I need a camera + telephoto + kit/prime lens for $700. Do I get a Canon and keep my 2006 lenses or get another brand with new lenses.
