Your only better options went mirrorless (AKA gay) more recently so there aren't as many cheap lenses and bodies on the used market, unless you can find a good deal on a nikon Z6. Sony has a ton of cheap glass made for them.
But if you want to keep your heterosexuality and are less picky with lenses, pentax is waiting for you.
