>>2627814>buying an expensive camera doesn't magically make you better at photographyI know that. I wasn't expecting to take world class pictures just because I bought a decent camera, but I was expecting it to be substantially better than my phone. The skin tones on pictures that the phone takes are much nicer.
>Pentax 35mm f/2.4Looks good, I think I'ma go for this but tell me, would that be significantly better than the kit lens set to 35mm? Because my problems with the ket lens is that it's so goddamn slow to focus. I can't even take a picture of my damn cat without it turning away and blurring.
And will it be a fair bit sharper?
>>2627815>Before you go out and buy a new lens, determine whether it's your camera that's taking poor pictures, or you yourselfOh it's definitely at least somewhat my fault. Operating a real camera is much more difficult than I expected after all. I have spent a good week working with the camera and lens though, and I've come to the conclusion that the focus speed is just...not acceptable. Again that could be down to me being shit but it does feel very slow.
You make a good point about the tripod though. I will definitely be investing in one asap.
I'll also check the guy you mentioned on youtube to see if I can learn a thing or two.
Oh and that lens also looks fantastic. It's pretty expensive (near enough the same price as the camera itself, actually) but those images I've checked from it look wonderful.
Here, have one of my incredibly shitty images.
