I'm experiencing some difficulty with my 100mm f/2.
It stutters when focusing.
It's very jumpy and will only hunt a few times, for short durations, when the body's set to one shot AF.
The same thing happens on different bodies.
It looks clean internally and on the aperture blades.
Is this a failure of the USM itself or ingress of foreign material?
It didn't help when I manually racked the focus group, to each end, or when I half pressed the shutter release several dozen times.
I hadn't used this particular lens in a while, but it worked perfectly before this.
