I'm just telling you that it happened with this lens, I was sad about it, too because I'm obsessed with 40mm lenses and it's pretty much a requirement for me. That lens just isn't that good, especially compared to something like the 50mm f1.8 S.
20mm f1.4 has become my go-to lens at work, and it's sharp enough for anything I'd ever need, which I could not say about the 40mm f2, it was an issue for product work.
