>>2581586To be fair it is a decent lens, little to no CA and if you didn't get a dud they're pretty sharp. I do get what you mean its like "hey guys I just got my Helios" *posts picture of flower closeup*. I like mine and use it as an everyday 85-ish equivalent next to my 35mm equivalent gives me a pretty light and cheap setup. I don't claim to be a pro and I don't use the Helios swirl as my subject or try to force it, I just use the lens for general life snapshits and sometimes it renders really nicely.
Unless there's sun coming in from 45°+ or a strongly lbacklit subject, that shit will just wash out the lens with a soft glow. Kinda dreamy sometimes though. I will say this again before some cunt bashes on it, I got mine for free and my 44-4m for £4, for a pair of lenses that cost me less than a chai latte they're pretty freaking sweet. I'm not going to argue that they're the best lens ever or that it'll outperform x, y or z its a lens, its good and I like to shoot with it.
