Does anyone have expirience with smallrig products?
Just got my BMPCC4k and I'm just trying to think out some ways of binding it to my Steadicam Merlin II. I'm still really comfortable with this stabalizer and it can still take much more weight.
It uses special (very thin headed) tripod screws to mount the camera on the opposite side of (pictured) dovetail plate. The issue is that with only one point of contact the camera shifts slightly about the tripod screw (unbalancing the steadicam constantly). I own multiple of these screws as well as the locating pins that came with the device.
I'm thinking this is a good opportunity for a smallrig cage, but the cage itself only has one 1/4-20 screw hole on the bottom. What kind of solutions do people do for this? I was looking at cheeseplates but i'm not sure if that's their purpose, and I might end up with different spacing of the holes. The other option is to hold out a few months till I can afford my metabones and just try to screw into that as well.
TLDR; how do y'all make sure your camera doesn't shimmy around when you're on a stabalizer
