I have had this lens for years but didn't use it often because I thought it was faulty. It was a nightmare to focus as it focused "past infinity" and had very strange image quality problems (hazy, no clear focus point). Yesterday I disassembled its rear glass element for cleaning. After cleaning I tried putting it backwards to see if the lens would behave any better. Now it focuses properly at infinity and IQ is definitely usable even at f/2.8.
