I recently bought a Calypso Phot that I found in a local thrift store. It's fully functional (as far as I can tell), if a bit dirty. I'm looking to send it out for cleaning, and to have a check-up on all mechanisms.
Should the repair discover anything minor that is broken or in need of replacement, can anyone tell me about what I might be looking at for cost? I'm kind of broke, and my local shop can't tell me what the cost will be for repair; only shipping, and I'd rather not pay two-way shipping and middle-man service if they're just going to tell me that the repairs will be out of my budget. The only thing I can find for pricing on the internet is the camera's antique value... nothing about repairs.
Additionally, does anybody have any experience with this camera? Shots taken with? I'd like to know about the user experience and whether or not it can survive underwater like it is marketed for. Seems like a cool fuckin' piece.
