this is more of a theoretical question. lets say i have a film that has a very large latitude, say HP5, where the density curve is very straight for a wide exposure. if what i capture only exists in the linear part of the curve, does it matter *where* on the curve that is? see pic attached, if i have a frame taken where EV sits in the red zone, another in the blue zone
i understand a denser negative is better etc but in this case no shadows or highlights are blocked. if i was scanning these two on a home setup, will i end up with the exact same photo after adjusting for it being denser? or will the denser one have more detail somewhere?
