>>4230763>you make them go all philosophical and question their choiceIt's okay though, that's exactly whey they ask me because they know that would be my go to answer. But it was more that they were trying to cut corners instead of actually putting in the time to learn about stuff like shutterspeed, ISO and F stops. I had people who vaguely knew me from years ago suddenly contact me which camera to buy to achieve similar photos but not even knowing the basics of photography. So that's why I asked them why at first. There's a big difference if you're shooting just randomly to go out and buy a medium format camera. I just referred them to a Point and Shoot camera with full auto to make it easier.
>The market needs demand, and demand comes from normies.True, I realized it when I typed it but I am a snob when it comes to film. It's silly because film prices here are expensive so the value of the price makes me think it shouldn't be wasted on such trivialities BUT the more people shoot the less valuable film becomes. Maybe it's because the reason I switched to film was because the massive inflation digital photography has for me, as in anybody can shoot anything at anytime for an nearly unlimited amount without there being any meaning in it. Again: I am a big snob.
>>4230774I mean the platform as a whole. Good luck standing out when the rest is just coomer clickbait. It also messed a lot with my head when I noticed it affecting my mental wellbeing because I felt I had to shoot more Instagram content instead of just, you know, shooting good photos. It's just that it feels tiresome to see shittier photos getting lots of praise when you know it's just because people simp for the girl. I think it's also just my ego getting in the way
