You also can not deny the fact that Sony themselves are gimping their own cameras. 6xxx series and pic related is the proof of it. If as you say is true, they could at least put Fujifilms sensor it them, but that would leave the gap to small to their own 7 series, so they gimp their own sensor.

It's not Fujifilm and Olympus/Panasonic that they're competing with in any way. They're all in Mirrorless squad together, and sound, even if perceived only, competition is beneficial for all, especially in emerging market of people upgrading from phone shooting. Nobody is doing brilliantly so they bring as much to the table as possible.
