While having a low element count, good rendering, good color rendition, and near-GM level resolution that is visibly consistent across the frame.
Your other real choice is the zeiss 35mm f2.8 that doesnt have an MF switch. Most sony lenses do now, so it's a workflow interruption to lack one.
Who cares what fredmiranda and dpreview gearfags say? Who are you going to ask next, pentaxforums? Do you really need a bunch of 40 year old men with failing eyesight, disintegrating marriages and a credit card problem to tell you if a lense is good or not?
