Anyway, I have a Sony NEX-7 and occasionally the shutter doesn't actuate properly and the plastic around the EVF is kind of breaking off which has me thinking about a potential replacement some time in the future. I'm thinking of going for an A7-something because I have some vintage full frame glass that would be nice to use without my cheap speed boosters degrading the edge IQ.
How much of a jump forwards would an a7 mk i/ii / a7r mk i/ii be for me? I think I'd like IBIS from the mk iis but is it easy to adjust the focal length as I zoom in and out with manual glass? Otherwise, what's the penalty with setting the length to say 40mm for my 28-70?
I was a bit confused by the comparison site. Has the EFV actually gotten higher res since the NEX-7? Will that make manual focus more precise?
I don't specialise in any particular genre. Landscapes, animals, family, usual snapshits.
