>muh gripI use plenty of small cameras and brick ergonomics suck shit. The entire reason grips came out and got huge was because leica's awful ergonomics made people want more. the reason fuji releases gripless cameras is because zoomers are averse to anything they can associate with working class people that are older than them. most of the grip for me is shake reduction because finger holds are the most prone to camera shake (your body vibrates at all times) over palm holds, and using the various controls on digital shit while keeping the camera secure.
ironically if you have a big lens you don't want a grip so badly. the lens becomes a much better grip than any grip. use an 80mm on an OM-2 and you don't miss the grip, the left hand steadies the camera using the lens and shutter and aperture controls are all at the lens mount. all the right hand does is wind and press the shutter. any digital shit? the right hand does so much while also holding the camera (if there's a short lens) that i want a grip.
