Hello, I need some advice regarding a new lens. Ive owned a D3100 for maybe 5 or 6 years now and have always had trouble with night photography. Even with a tripod, anything beyond 400 iso with the stock lens is a glare-filled grainy mess.
My question is: should I upgrade my lens to a Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D? Or should I invest in a D3300? I can probably afford one or the other (used) right now but probably not both. That is, unless I sell my current kit.

I'm also 100% open to other options
