Oh... Reminds me. I've had to remove the sponges from the camera too. They were decomposing and had white.... stuff on it. It could have been mould or it could have been something benign. 2 sponges on the film loading door - they seem to be intended to stop light leaks, and a third sponge which sat at the top of the mirror box that seemed to be some kind of dampener for when the mirror flaps up.
Where would I get such sponges as replacements? Or can I just ignore them? Does the mirror dampening sponge need to be there? It left gunk on the mirror.
