tl;dr I need more light. Like, a lot more. I do product videography and I'd like to get a light(s) light pic related with Bowens s-mounts. Any recommendations?
Long: My two main lights are each 4x 40W LEDs (actual 40W consumption, not 40W equivalent, so about equal light output to 200W tungsten) in 60cm softboxes. Each light spits out around 4500 lux at 1m based on my measurements.
f/11 and ISO 800 or 1600 (1/125 shutter) is what I mostly shoot at. Higher depth of field is useful for the more "objective" tone in my videos and it gives some decent wiggle room for focus. BUT ISO 800/1600 are just barely serviceable on my camera. I want to be shooting at ISO 100; noise looks absolutely awful especially after youtube compresses the shit out of the footage.
The thing is, each of these lights only cost me about $100 to put together (4x $20 LED bulbs, $25 soft box) and I'm worried that the only way to upgrade from here is going to be ridiculously expensive. ie the 150W version of pic related (
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1342001-REG/godox_sl150w_5600k_150w_led.html ) $250 and won't even double the lux; it's only rated for 7200 at 1m, and since manufacturers always over-promise and under-deliver, real-life performance is probably even lower.
Any companies, or models I should be looking for? Bowens mounts seem to be the most common, but should I be looking at a different mount style for the lights and softboxes?
How the fuck do I get more light?
