I just want to ask if anyone else has had this experience
Did you come to dislike small cameras and prefer larger ones? Stuff like "photo walks" and "the one you have with you" seemed cool to me at first because I would take a lot of photos and probably get something good but now that just feels like the camera, instead of being part of its own hobby, is a wall between me and living life if I do that shit. So I stopped going on photo walks. I stopped taking a camera everywhere with me. Now I just go on walks, and sometimes I go back with a camera if the weather is ok, and I would rather have a larger better one since i'm going out just to take that photo. I no longer autistically spec gear based on size and versatility. I went from an m43 body and a collection of zooms and primes i'd take to different sorts of places in an awkwardly weighted jacket pocket (in the summer) to just a full frame camera with a 50mm f1.4, a 200-500 f5.6, and a tripod that mostly travels in my car. I use a rail and an RRS baseplate to rotate the camera for panoramas but that's as fancy as it gets. The number of photos I take cratered but the quality and significance went way up.
Unfortunately i'm missing the "disposable bullshit" now that I'm a big camera fag. The boredom snapshits of nothing like mirrors and pedestrians and poles, I'm not taking them anymore, I don't have anything I can post here because 2/3 photos dox me or my family and the 1/3 are too good for 4chan (meaning I am trying to sell them on tshirts).
