They still aren't smaller, faster, sharper or less distorting than the primes of the same vintage.
My Canon 35/2.8 is the lightest lense in the FD system, like 150g or something, and even stopped down it will still pluck a subject out a scene with how crisp it is.
Zooms are great for people who think M43 has reached the level of sufficiency.
