I got a nikon 18-70 dx for dirt cheap. It's in overall good condition, needed some cleaning. While opening it, i noticed that the screws of the 2 tweakable elements looked tampered with. Didn't touch it myself.
The lens does take pictures that look noticeably softer than my 18-55 kit. The Zeiss star chart thing seemed to reforce my misalignment suspicion...
I'd really like to use this lens. Anyone knows if there's a way to properly realign lenses at home without and expensive as balls collimator? I don't think that sending it for repair would be worth it, since i don't live in the US and anything photo related here costs an arm and two legs.
