>>3172232Thanks anon. I "studied" as a painter originally. The first and foremost thing was composition, especially with observational drawing/painting. If you got the first half a dozen lines right everything else would fall into place.
Pic related is by Franz Kline. Not everyones cup of tea but I hope you get the idea. Try to get the composition right in the frame, look for distractions near the edges and things that will lead the eye around the image.
