Even I was previously aware that the flash is on by default, I forgot it, and that ruined a pic. Darken and Light, Light+ should also be used. Essentially you really have to understand what's happening around you and what the camera can do in order to take a legible photo. By serendipity we met a girl in a park that had the same exact camera down to the colour, so she took a half-decent photo of us.
