>>4013071I do a lot of street photography around Los Angeles and it's always a pain in the ass when people get aggressive. Doesn't happen often, particularly because I don't get in people's faces, but it's never easy to explain to someone that you have a right to photograph the public. I've had cops called on me a few times and they understand for the most part but I have had a couple of Karens lie to the cops and tell them I'm harassing people which makes it a lot more tense than usual. Messed up think is so far 100% of people who have called cops on me were not even in any of my photos. Lately, I've been working skid row and red light districts and I have to be careful not to be seen. There are people in those neighborhoods you don't want to upset. Makes things very difficult as shooting telephoto at night from car windows with narrow apertures is challenging at best but from a documentarian standpoint the results are worth it provided I don't get clocked and ambushed by a pimp. So far so good.
