This goes back to the "a photo of something interesting vs an interesting photo of something" argument. Imo people on tumblr and flickr are too obsessed with one upping each other. Auroras, autumn forests, naked russian models in pink smoke. Yet the images most memorable to me were of mundane stuff, but with good colors and lighting.
