Sony and a lot of reviewers said that the A7 was weather sealed when it first came out (Kai pouring water on an A7 stands out to me the most), but Sony later pulled that after people realized that the cameras lacked an IP rating or any form of sealing. To this day Sony doesn't highlight any weather sealing capabilities on the A7II series of cameras.
>>3083349This is the biggest thing. If you send your A7 back to Sony because a light drizzle fried the mic or a button, they'll just tell you to get fucked as it "exceeded the design of the camera", whereas Canikon or Pentax will generally do good on it and fix the issue.
