>>2624376If I was into photography just for the gear I'd have a stupid fullframe digital body, at least half a dozen quality lenses, and I would have switched bodies several times the last 5 years. How much would time and money would I have wasted on gear I didn't keep, if I was a proper gear junkie? I can afford whatever toys I want to, but I make an effort to not be tempted.
Budget isn't a huge issue - so I try and get close to perfection whenever I can, with gear. I'm aware that I don't take many pictures, but I care a lot about the few pictures I do take. Right now I feel like sometimes my gear holds me back, and that I'm ready for something new. I can appreciate well-built gear on quality alone, and tiny imperfections bug me. I'm going to buy a camera now, and I intend to buy one that'll last me a decade, minimum. I'll put my feelings ahead of rational decisionmaking, and I know that digital is the obvious easy way out - I don't want that.
