Steps away would be a family taking a group selfie with that violence behind them. It was a disinterest mixed with immediate violence that I hadn't experienced before.
I made it to the steps of the Capitol and decided not to enter because I didn't have PPE with me in case there was gunfire inside. This was taken approximately the same time Ashli Babbitt was shot by police inside. Maybe two minutes later people were coming out saying they'd seen her get shot.
