probably one of the luckiest shots of my. just started out with photography and it was NYE. read something somewhere about a sort of "focus shift" technique for shooting fireworks. you point your camera towards the sky where a rocket will probably blow up. manual focus is required. shutter speed should be around 1/4th of a second. once the rocket explodes, press the shutter and start focusing manually to what would almost be the right focus. I cant really explain it but I'm sure you get the point. makes the fireworks look like flowers
