I just made a cracking deal on the Swedish equivalent of craig's list. Some dude posted an ad where he sold out out a bag of gear that had been lying in his closet unused for some five years.
He just put a pic up and said camera gear for sale, asking price $100. Saw the ad minutes after it was posted, recognized the pentax K10D w battery grip, a pentax flash, plus the two cheap kit zooms 18-55 and 50-200. On top of that two additional lenses where you couldn't see the brand.
Saw the ad minutes after it was posted and just contacted him right away saying I took his offer and that my brother would be over to pick it up very soon. Thought it looked like good fun and value regardless what the other two lenses were.
Turned out it was a Sigma 18-50 mm f2.8 ex dc macro and a Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 ex dc. The flash was the fairly recent Pentax af fgz360.
My brother said the guy was a bit stumped cause he was literally flooded with mails in the half hour it took him to get there.
Making a conservative estimate looking at ebay closing prices I reckon this bag of gear would fetch around $650 on the used market today.
Will play around with the K10D but might sell it later together with the kit zooms. The Sigma lenses and the flash will go on my K-30 for sure.
Just had to share that with you guys. Anyone else with stories about good deals on craigslist / ebay / thrift store / pawn shop?
