that in particular was a very tricky pan to get right, due to these factors:
>f1 cars are very fast lol>long focal length shooting cars from many hundreds of metres away>only having 2 cars in the field that work for that particular shot>can't properly follow the cars early on due to obstructed view, had to initially go by my hearing, then pick the cars up in this brief window early on, before tracking the car through the scenery roughly where I thought it'd be, and keep the movement going once the car came into view again>cars were also just hitting a braking zone at that point, nailing a pan under heavy acceleration of either kind is much more difficulttook many many tries to get it, thankfully I was just passing time during the race so I didn't need to be anywhere
some guys will also swear by using stabilisation for pans, eithers will say the complete opposite
my 300mm is one of the original 1987 dinosaurs, so I'm stuck with the unstabilised option no matter what for the time being lol
