>>3348764>the only reason their bodies keep selling is people have much more expensive lens collections alreadyUp to before the 5d4 and 1dx2 I might be tempted to agree, because the sensor situation was just plain obscene. But now? No. Canon is actually back on their shit.
I was nearly going to a Sony, but honestly you can tell the difference between another piece of consumer tech and a camera made by people that make professional hardware.
I'm not a Canon shill. I've hated Canon for the longest time, it took them 5 years too long to get their sensors on par, but now they did (okay, almost on par, it's still one stop away) and they're working hard to get what people want on their cameras.
Sony is all smoke and mirrors. Their sensors are great, but there isn't a single lens I want and their cameras are plagued by various kind of issues : af that doesn't work as it should, banding and artifacts, overheating, all shit that gets pushed under the rug because somehow nobody wants to hate on Sony.
Canon? Canons just don't break and don't go wrong. I wish I was exagerating but really, there is a reason Canon makes a new camera in the range every 4 years: they know their products are worth 4 years, hassle free. They're still assholes for ruining video for everyone (they had the market and they destroyed it) but when it comes to stills imho Canon is king right now. Nikon has a better AF, but I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole after the D600 and SB900 scandal.
