Mist in the mountains can be just as dangerous. One wrong turn and you're heading to the abyss. And it's even less awarding. Can't plan for it, fogging up lenses, can kill visibility to zero without warning, can lift and offer nothing to you just as easily.
Real cheat code for mountains is regular sunny weather after a good hard downpour that washes all the pollution away. Just need to be at hand at right time.
