Look at EOS M50: it has 22,3 mm wide sensor, and at 50lp/mm you'd get 2230 pixels per sensor width of actual resolution. If you apply 1.7x crop factor, like M50 does for 4k video (but not for 1080p), you'd get 1312 pixels per video width of actual resolution. 1080p is sampled from full sensor width, so you get actual 1920px resolution for video width.
If your numbers are correct, then 1080p video from M50 has much higher resolution than 4k from the same camera!
