The brand is owned by Ricoh, and Ricoh has only bothered to release incremental upgrades for existing cameras because they don't give a shit about the brand, which they only own as a side project. If they cared about the brand or Pentax users, they wouldn't have released the K1 ii as a soldering project for bored Chinese contractors, but they would have actually released a significantly upgraded camera. All "new" lens releases in the past few years are licensed Tamron copies. You'll learn eventually, but Pentax is no more. The brand is just a reanimated corpse at this point, kept alive solely for the benefit of existing users.
